WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (9-10, 4-3) won its third consecutive match Saturday morning, 6-1 over North Greenville (3-12, 2-5) in a Conference Carolinas contest at the Bulldogs complex.
Barton swept the doubles' matches and took five of the six singles' contests. Five players for the Bulldogs notched victories at both singles and doubles' play against the Crusaders: freshmen
Maren Kronsbein (Ellerau, GERMANY),
Tilde Howeler (Stockholm, SWEDEN),
Isabella Pita (Guayaquil, ECUADOR) and
Silvia Fernandez-Trabadelo (Barcelona, SPAIN) and senior
Isabella Caballero (La Paz, BOLIVIA).
Caballero has won six straight singles' matches while Kronsbein and Howeler teamed up at first doubles to down North Greenville's Hannah Hill (Simpsonville, S.C.) and Larissa Berger (Hartsville, S.C.), 6-3.
Barton travels to Florence, S.C., to take on Francis Marion on Wednesday beginning at 2:00 p.m., in a league match while North Greenville faces Southern Wesleyan in Central, S.C., on Wednesday as well.
