WILSON, N.C. – The No. 26 Barton men's tennis team (13-7, 4-2) notched its third straight victory with a 5-2 triumph over North Greenville (3-8, 3-3) in a Conference Carolinas contest Saturday morning at the Bulldogs' complex.
Four members of the Barton men's tennis team – freshmen
Kristoffer Staahlbrand (Oslo, NORWAY),
Johan Holgersson (Bromma, SWEDEN) and
Hannes Tylehed (Stockholm, SWEDEN) and junior
Philip Nordberg (Mariefred, SWEDEN) – won at singles and doubles' play to lead the Bulldogs to the league victory.
Holgersson's 6-1 and 6-0 victory over North Greenville's Anthony Cassini (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) at fourth singles pushed his winning streak in singles' play to 11 while Tylehed has won four consecutive singles' matches.
Barton hits the road to face Francis Marion in Florence, S.C., on Wednesday in a conference match-up beginning at 2:00 p.m., while North Greenville takes on Southern Wesleyan on the road in Central, S.C., on Wednesday as well.
