WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (11-7) notched a 5-2 victory over Averett Sunday afternoon at the Bulldogs complex.
Freshman
Kristoffer Staahlbrand (Oslo, NORWAY) led the Bulldogs with victories at first singles and first doubles as Barton rallied to win after dropping the point at doubles.
The Bulldogs won five of the six singles matches including three players – senior
Diego Agudelo (Bogata, COLOMBIA), junior
Philip Nordberg (Mariefred, SWEDEN) and freshman
Hannes Tylehed (Stockholm, SWEDEN) – who rallied with victories in the second and third sets.
Barton returns to Conference Carolinas play on Friday, April 8, when the Bulldogs host Southern Wesleyan beginning at 2:00 p.m., while Averett hosts Mary Baldwin on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
