PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Barton softball team (25-9, 12-7) fell twice to UNC Pembroke (22-14, 11-9), 4-2 and 4-3, Tuesday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas doubleheader at Braves Field.
Game One – UNC Pembroke 4, Barton 2
The Braves' Jordan Adcox (Fayetteville, N.C.) ended the game in the bottom of the seventh inning with a walk-off three-run home run to lift the home team to the win.

AnnaKate Gilchrist (Clayton, N.C.) drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth frame to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 advantage while junior second baseman
Emily Bell (Bunn, N.C.) finished with two hits and an RBI in the losing effort.
On the mound, UNC Pembroke's Kinsley Sheppard (Laurinburg, N.C.) improved to 11-5 on the year while sophomore
Rilee Jones (Virginia Beach, Va.) (7-6) took the loss for the Braves.
Game Two – UNC Pembroke 4, Barton 3
The Braves' Makenna Sibbett (Randleman, N.C.) broke a three-all tie in the bottom of the sixth inning with the game-winning solo home run to lead UNC Pembroke to the sweep.
Lauren Hilbourn (Chadbourn, N.C.) added a two-run home run and drove in another run with a triple to lead the Braves offensively. UNC Pembroke's Madison Dyson (Statesville, N.C.) (8-5) allowed just one earned run while striking out five batters in the complete game victory.
Gilchrist added an RBI triple and senior catcher
McCrae Knapp (Hertford, N.C.) also drove in a run in the losing effort. Freshman
Miranda Holmes (Godwin, N.C.) (10-3), the reigning league pitcher of the week, suffered the loss for the Bulldogs.
Barton looks to bounce back at home on Friday when the Bulldogs host North Greenville in a league doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. while UNC Pembroke travels to Belmont, N.C., to take on Belmont Abbey in a doubleheader Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m., as well.
