SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (16-14) saw its 2021-22 season come to a close with a 108-73 loss to Belmont Abbey (20-9) in the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas Championship Friday afternoon at Jerry Richardson Stadium on the campus of Wofford College.
The Bulldogs were the sixth seed in the tournament while the Crusaders were seeded third. Belmont Abbey advances to the semifinals to face second-seeded Emmanuel (Ga.) (19-8) Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
The Crusaders, who beat the Bulldogs for the third time this year, were led by Quest Aldridge (Winston-Salem, N.C.) with a game-high 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting while Belmont Abbey hit 11 treys and shot 62 percent (44-of-71) in the win.

Jett Fortuny (Cary, N.C.) finished with a team-high 18 points while sophomore guard
Donaven Hairston (Atlanta, Ga.) added 15 points in the setback.
Belmont Abbey jumped out to a 47-32 halftime advantage and never looked back. The Crusaders, who totaled six players in double figures, scored 61 points after intermission. Sean Halloran (Orlando, Fla.) chipped with 16 points for the Crusaders, who also held a 41-31 advantage in rebounding in the win.
