WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (5-8, 2-1) made it two victories in a row with a 5-2 victory over Converse (5-6, 2-1) Saturday morning in a Conference Carolinas game at the Bulldogs Complex.
Barton took control with a sweep at doubles play then took four of the six singles' matches against Converse.
Senior
Isabella Caballero (La Paz, BOLIVIA) and freshmen
Tilde Howeler (Stockholm, SWEDEN) and
Maren Kronsbein (Ellerau, GERMANY) all triumphed at singles and doubles play to lead the Bulldogs to the win.
Howeler and Kronsbein teamed up to win over the Valkyries' Maria Belen Vendrell (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA) and Rebekka Braziel (Pelion, S.C.) at second doubles by a score of 6-3.
Barton remains at home to face Shaw Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., in a non-conference match while Converse returns to Spartanburg, S.C., to take on Southern Wesleyan Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
