WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (13-14) saw a five-run lead disappear in an 8-7 setback to Catawba (18-11) Tuesday afternoon at Nixon Field.
Catawba's Dylan Wilkinson (High Point, N.C.) hit the game-winning, two-run double in the top of the ninth inning as part of a three-run frame as the Indians rallied from a 7-2 deficit to pull out the win.

Andres Machado (Coral Gables, Fla.) hit first-inning home runs and sophomore designated hitter
Tanner Halvorson (Eau Claire, Wis.) added a three-run round tripper in the fifth frame to help the home team build a five-run advantage. Machado totaled three hits and a pair of RBI but the Bulldogs suffered their fifth straight setback.
Catawba's Adam Dossenbach (Sanford, N.C.) (1-0) was credited with the win in relief while Robbie Cowie (Lincolnton, N.C.) pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his sixth save of the year. The Indians defeated the Bulldogs for the second time this year as well.
Barton hits the road to take on Barry in Miami Shores, Fla., on Friday at 6:00 p.m., in the first of a three-game weekend series. Catawba, meanwhile, hosts Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday night at 6:00 p.m., as well.
