FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Barton men's volleyball team (0-11, 0-6) fell in four sets to Emmanuel (Ga.) (9-8, 3-3), 3-1, Friday evening at the Shaw Athletic Complex in a Conference Carolinas contest.
The Lions won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-10, 27-25, 18-25 and 25-18 and ran their winning streak to three matches.
Emmanuel was led by Gustavo Cavalcanti (Lisbon, PORTUGAL) with a match-high 20 kills while Carlos Guerrero (Ewabeach, Hawai'i) added 13 kills, six digs and a pair of blocks in the victory. The Lions hit .364 for the match compared to the Bulldogs' .179 hitting percentage.
Barton was paced by sophomore outside
Brandon Johnston (Hawkes Bay, NEW ZEALAND) with 19 kills and senior setter
Moses Kresch (Hersey, Pa.) totaled 40 assists and nine digs despite the setback.
Barton remains on the road to take on Erskine on Saturday afternoon in a league contest in Due West, S.C., while Emmanuel hosts Mount Olive Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
