CENTRAL, S.C. – Barton (10-5, 5-1) and Southern Wesleyan (4-10, 1-5) split a Conference Carolinas baseball doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Dr. C. Keith Connor Field. The Warriors rallied to win in 10 innings in the first contest, 4-3, while the Bulldogs salvaged the split with a 16-4 triumph in the nightcap.
Game One – Southern Wesleyan 4, Barton 3 (10 innings)
The Warriors were able to scratch out a victory in game one when Chance Fogel scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the tenth inning to hand Southern Wesleyan its first league win of the season.
Southern Wesleyan was led by Parker Pillsbury (Inverness, Fla.) with four hits and an RBI double as part of a three-run third inning while Jake Wisniewski (Lexington, S.C.) (2-0) earned the win after holding the Bulldogs scoreless over the final three and two-third innings of work to go along with three strikeouts.
For Barton, senior
Jared Davis (Poquoson, Va.) (3-1) suffered his first loss of the year despite allowing one earned run while pitching into the 10th inning. Barton senior third baseman

Game Two – Barton 16, Southern Wesleyan 4 (seven innings)
The Bulldogs broke a scoreless tie with an eight-run third inning to break the contest open then added seven runs in the seventh frame to salvage the split with the Warriors and took two of three from Southern Wesleyan in the weekend series.
Barton sophomore outfielder
Matthew Restivo (Boynton Beach, Fla.) led the visitors with three hits, three runs scored and four runs batted in while eight players for Barton drove in at least one run in the win. Restivo highlighted the third frame with a bases-clearing double. Barton junior second baseman
Ryan McIsaac (Millville, N.J.) had four of the Bulldogs' 11 hits.
Southern Wesleyan was doomed on the mound, walking eight batters and hitting four people while Aaron Bennett (Helen, Ga.) (0-2) took the loss. Barton senior
Michael Yuille (Boyds, Md.) (2-0) earned the win after allowing three unearned runs over six innings of work and three strikeouts.
Barton hosts Francis Marion next Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m., in a league contest while Southern Wesleyan takes on North Georgia on Tuesday, March 1, at 3:00 p.m.
