WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (1-0) opened the 2022 campaign with a 5-2 victory over Coker (0-1) Tuesday afternoon at Nixon Field.

Ryan McIsaac (Millville, N.J.) stole home for the game-winning run in the seventh inning as the Bulldogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit by plating the game's final five runs on their way to the win.

Luke Chung (Seal Beach, Calif.) finished with a pair of hits and an RBI while senior
Jared Davis (Poquoson, Va.) (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings in the triumph. In addition, freshman
Tanner Halvorson (Eau Claire, Wis.) retired the final six batters for the save.
For Coker, Bryan Castillo (Miami, Fla.) drove in both runs for the visitors while Ethan Graham (Beaufort, S.C.) (0-1) was tagged with the loss.
Barton remains at home to take on Millersville (Pa.) on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., in a doubleheader at Nixon Field while Coker visits second-ranked Wingate on Friday at 4:00 p.m., in Wingate, N.C.
