WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (5-3, 3-0) remained undefeated in Conference Carolinas play with an 83-66 win over Chowan (5-4, 3-2) Wednesday evening at Wilson Gymnasium.

Trevon Spencer (Columbia, N.C.) led all scorers with 22 points to go along with 10 rebounds while sophomore guard
Marcus Boykin (Clinton, N.C.) added 19 points as the Bulldogs scored 49 points and shot 52 percent (17-of-33) in the first half to take the win.
Chowan, who saw its five-game winning streak snapped, was led by Daylan Askew (Ahoskie, N.C.) with 19 points but was the lone Hawks player to score in double figures.
The Bulldogs – who led by as many as 23 points in the second half – limited the Hawks to just 25 points on nine-of-35 shooting (26 percent) after intermission. Barton also hit 20-of-22 free throws and received an 11-point, eight-rebound and six-assist effort from junior guard
Reese McDonald (Raleigh, N.C.) in the victory.
In addition, Barton joins Francis Marion and King as the lone three squads unblemished in league play.
Barton remains at home to take on USC Aiken on Thursday, December 15, at 4:00 p.m., while Chowan hosts Erskine next Wednesday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m., in a league contest.
