WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (1-7) suffered a 72-52 defeat to the hands of Fayetteville State (4-3) Monday evening at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Broncos' Aniylah Bryant (Havelock, N.C.) finished with a game-high 14 points while Morgan Graham (Raleigh, N.C.) tallied a double-double – 13 points and 10 rebounds – as Fayetteville State jumped out to a 21-8 advantage at the end of the first period and never looked back in the win.
Barton was led by freshman guard
Lauren Mingo (Clinton, Md.) with a double-double as well – 15 points and 11 rebounds – but was the lone player to score in double figures for the home team.
The Bulldogs were done in by 22 turnovers and shot just 25 percent (15-of-59) from the floor in the setback. Fayetteville State held a 46-37 edge in rebounding in the win as well. Barton junior guard

Barton remains at home to take on Chowan in a Conference Carolinas game Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., while Fayetteville State hosts Wingate Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
