WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (2-8, 2-2) snapped a four-game losing streak with a convincing 68-45 win over Converse (1-10, 1-5) Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action at Wilson Gymnasium.

Lauren Walker (Charlotte, N.C.) added 15 points as the Bulldogs broke open a close contest in the fourth quarter.
Barton outscored Converse by a 22-8 margin in the fourth period and forced the Valkyries into 22 turnovers in the win. The Bulldogs also held a 54-38 edge on the boards and limited Converse to just 29 percent shooting (16-of-55) for the contest.
Converse was led by Sydney Wilson (Henderson, Tenn.) with 23 points – a game-high – but was the lone player to score in double figures for the visitors. The Valkyries also hit just two-of-14 shots from behind the three-point line in suffering their fourth straight setback.
Barton next travels to Ettrick, Va., to take on Virginia State on Saturday, December 31, at 6:00 p.m., while Converse hosts Saint Augustine's Monday at 2:00 p.m.
