WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College baseball team (18-18) continued to move through the winner's bracket with an 11-9 win over No. 15 North Greenville (29-11) Thursday afternoon in the 2021 Conference Carolinas Championship at Fleming Stadium. The Bulldogs are the fifth seed in the tournament while the Crusaders are seeded second.

Dylan Scaranda (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) hit two home runs while senior catcher
Brayden Olson (Spokane, Wash.) broke a nine-all tie with the game-winning, two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning in the win. Scaranda finished with four hits for the Bulldogs, who ran their winning streak to four games.
Barton will now face third-seeded Erskine (23-18) in another winner's bracket game on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Flying Fleet downed fourth-seeded Belmont Abbey (20-19) by an 11-1 score earlier in the day. North Greenville plays in a loser's bracket game on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
The back-and-forth contest also featured a three-run home run from Barton senior outfielder
Travious Ford (Greenville, N.C.), his fourth round-tripper of the tournament. Barton freshman
Michael Yuille (Boyds, Md.) improved to 2-2 on the year after earning the win. Yuille pitched three-and-a-third scoreless innings after entering in the sixth inning and striking out two batters.
North Greenville also hit four home runs despite the loss. Brady West (Rockford, Ill.) hit one of the four round-trippers and drove in three runs while Brent Herlong (Lake View, S.C.) fell to 2-2 after taking the loss.
