WILSON, N.C. - The Barton College softball team (3-7) fell to Georgia College (2-8) in a doubleheader between two regional foes Saturday afternoon at Jeffries Field. The Bobcats won both games by scores of 8-2 and 9-1 in six innings, respectively.
Game One – Georgia College 8, Barton 2
The Bobcats' Katelyn Hobbs (Thomasville, Ga.) hit a home run and drove in three runs as the Bobcats were able to pick up their first win of the season. On the mound, MacKenzie Michels (Lilburn, Ga.) (1-2) earned the victory after going the distance and allowing just two runs on three hits and striking out three batters.
The Bulldogs and Bobcats were knotted at one after four innings of play before the visitors broke the contest open with a four-run fifth inning.

Sydney Wade (Farmville, N.C.) and sophomore second baseman
Emily Bell (Bunn, N.C.) drove in runs while freshman
Rilee Jones (Virginia Beach, Va.) (3-2) was tagged with the loss.
Game Two – Georgia College 9, Barton 1 (six innings)
The Bobcats' Golden Thrower (Hanahan, S.C.) finished with a pair of hits and three runs batted in while Georgia College took advantage of a pair of Bulldogs' errors to score five unearned runs in completing the sweep of Barton.

Barton next faces St. Andrews on Sunday afternoon in a doubleheader beginning at Noon while Georgia College takes on Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C., on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., as well.
