WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (2-2-1, 2-2-1) rallied from a pair of one-goal deficits to beat North Greenville (3-1-1, 3-1-1), 3-2, in a key Conference Carolinas match Sunday afternoon at Electric Supply Company Field at Truist Stadium.

Hailey Russell (Jacksonville, N.C.) scored the match-winning goal in the 78th minute from a little under 35 yards out with a launched left-footed shot over the goalkeeper's outstretched hands. The goal was Russell's team-tying third of the season.
Faith Knoedler (Columbus, Ga.) scored twice for the Crusaders, who couldn't hold leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in dropping their first contest of the season.

Lexis Goldberg (Sanford, N.C.) tied the score at the 70:06 mark of the second half while junior midfielder
Sarah Kaempfe (Augsburg, GERMANY) also scored her third goal of the season before intermission. Kaempfe's goal came off a corner kick from Russell, who was credited with the assist, right in front of the net.
In goal, senior
Megan Bolick (Salisbury, N.C.) earned the win after making seven saves while Maggie Shopp (Lexington, S.C.) suffered the loss. Shopp made four stops. North Greenville lost despite a 17-14 advantage in shots taken.
Barton remains at home to take on Chowan on Wednesday in league action beginning at 5:00 p.m., while North Greenville visits Central, S.C., to take on Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m., as well.
