WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (5-3) scored a goal in the final seconds to finish off a rally and beat Chowan (1-8), 8-7, in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.

Jake Soroko (Smyrna, Del.) found the back of the net with six seconds left off a blocked shot right in front of the goalkeeper for the victory. The Bulldogs rallied from a 7-5 deficit midway through the fourth quarter to beat the Hawks for the second time this year.

B.J. Wilson (Tampa, Fla.) led the way with a team-high three goals as the Bulldogs snapped a two-game losing streak. Barton also held a 56-27 edge in shots taken in the win.
Chowan, which lost its sixth straight contest, was led by Jaxon Martin (Jarvis, Ontario, CANADA) and Eric George (Stony Plain, Alberta, CANADA) with three goals each. Barton freshman
Bryan Balland (Wilmington, N.C.) won in goal for the home team after making 10 saves while Nathan Woodhill (Hewitt, Texas) suffered the loss for the Hawks despite totaling 18 stops on the day.
Barton remains at home to take on Emmanuel (Ga.) on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., in a Conference Carolinas match while Chowan takes on North Greenville in Tigerville, S.C., on Saturday beginning at Noon.
