CENTRAL, S.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (2-8, 2-4) snapped a four-match losing streak with a 3-1 triumph over Southern Wesleyan (0-4, 0-4) Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Tysinger Gymnasium. The Bulldogs won by scores of 23-25, 25-16 and 25-22 and 25-12.

Kaytlin Elkins (Hope Mills, N.C.) led the way with a match-high 19 kills while sophomore outside hitter
Allison Gambill (Hickory, N.C.) finished with 16 kills for the second straight day as the Bulldogs limited the Warriors to just a .092 hitting percentage in the victory.
Southern Wesleyan, who is still searching for its first win of the year, was led by Olivia Johnson (Anderson, S.C.) with 13 kills and 21 digs in the losing effort.

Sarah Kirk (Pearland, Texas) notched her third straight double-double – 48 assists and 11 digs – as the visitors took control after falling in the first set. The Bulldogs were especially dominant in the fourth set, jumping out to leads of 7-1 and 20-7.
Barton returns to the court on Friday, March 26, when the Bulldogs host North Greenville in a league match at Wilson Gymnasium beginning at 5:00 p.m., while Southern Wesleyan faces Lees-McRae on Friday, March 19 in Banner Elk, N.C., at 7:00 p.m.
