TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Barton College men's volleyball team (4-3, 2-2) fell to North Greenville (4-1, 2-1), 3-0, Friday evening at Haynes Gymnasium in a Conference Carolinas match. The Crusaders won by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-23.
North Greenville was led by Jackson Gilbert (Hilliard, Ohio) with 14 kills while Sergio Carrillo (Gurabo, PUERTO RICO) added 33 assists and three service aces in the three-match sweep of Barton.
Barton was led by junior outside hitter
Adrian Iglesias (Guaynabo, PUERTO RICO) and freshman right side hitter
Jayton Hall (Queen Creek, Ariz.) with 13 and 12 kills, respectively, despite the setback. The Bulldogs were also hurt by 16 service errors as the visitors fell to .500 in league play.
Barton looks to bounce back on Saturday when the Bulldogs face Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C., beginning at 2:30 p.m., while North Greenville hosts Mount Olive on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
