WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (4-7, 4-7) was dealt a 73-68 loss to Emmanuel (Ga.) (12-4, 10-1) Friday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas game at the Shaw Athletic Center.
The Lions' Kelvin Jones scored a team-high 21 points while Tyonn Stuckey (Columbia, S.C.) added 15 points as Emmanuel won its ninth straight game and remained in sole possession of first place in the league standings.
Barton was led by senior guard
Isaiah Reddish (Durham, N.C.) with a game-high 22 points but the Bulldogs lost for the second straight game. The Lions held a 58-57 advantage with 6:14 remaining in the contest after Reddish's three-point play but the home team responded with seven straight points to take control.
The Lions hit 11 three-pointers in the contest while forcing the Bulldogs into 18 turnovers. Barton senior guard
David Campbell (Severn, Md.) added 12 points for Barton.
Barton returns to the hardwood on Saturday afternoon against Southern Wesleyan in a Conference Carolinas contest beginning at 4:00 p.m., in Central, S.C., while Emmanuel (Ga.) hosts Mount Olive Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
