Barton men’s basketball bounces back with 94-79 home victory over Erskine

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (3-5, 3-5) turned up the offense on Friday evening in a 94-79 victory over Erskine (2-7, 2-7) in Conference Carolinas action at Wilson Gymnasium.

Barton senior forward Isaiah Reddish (Durham, N.C.) neared a triple-double – 24 points, 16 points and eight assists – while freshman guard Marcus Boykin (Clinton, N.C.) added 14 points as the Bulldogs finished with five players in double figures.

Erskine was led by Rod Culver (North Augusta, Ga.) off the bench with 15 points but the Flying Fleet hit just six-of-23 three-point attempts and saw itself in a 24-point hole – 65-41 with 15:09 left in the contest – on its way to their third straight defeat.

Barton also won from the charity stripe, finishing 24-of-26 (92 percent) from the free throw line including a 11-of-12 performance by Reddish.  Barton held a 48-27 advantage on the boards as well and received a 13-point, three-trey performance from senior guard Shemar Hudson (Wilson, N.C.).

Barton and Erskine will play again on Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium as part of Senior Day for the Bulldogs.
