GREENVILLE, S.C. – Barton College's
Jacob Randolph has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced earlier today.
Randolph, a junior goalkeeper from Metairie, La., earned shutout victories over North Carolina Wesleyan (1-0) and King (3-0) this past Wednesday and Sunday, respectively. Against the Tornado, Randolph stopped four shots to help the Bulldogs remain unbeaten in league play.
Randolph, an All-Conference Carolinas selection last spring, has a 0.87 goals-against average so far this season with 31 saves and four shutouts. Randolph won the weekly league honor for the second time in his collegiate career.
Mount Olive's Alfie Pope has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Barton (5-2, 4-0) next hosts rival Mount Olive (7-3, 5-0) in a Conference Carolinas showdown on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m., at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.
