WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (5-2, 4-0) remained at the very top of the Conference Carolinas standings after shutting out King (2-4-1, 0-1), 3-0, Sunday afternoon at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.

Kevin Mendoza (Wilson, N.C.) both finished off penalty kicks while senior defender
Eve Luna-Arias (Browns Summit, N.C.) notched the game-winner in the 31st minute to open the scoring as the Bulldogs won their third consecutive match.
Luna-Arias scored in the box after taking control of his own saved shot and finding the back of the net. Velasco leads the team in goals scored with six and total points with 14 while Mendoza scored in the second straight contest.
Barton held a 18-5 advantage in shots taken while junior goalkeeper
Jacob Randolph (Metairie, La.) stopped four shots and picked up his fourth shutout win on the year. Meanwhile, King's goalkeeper, Jack Hyatt (Nashville, Tenn.), suffered the loss despite six saves.
Both teams are back in action in Conference Carolinas matches on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Barton hosts Mount Olive while King travels to Central, S.C., to take on Southern Wesleyan.
