WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (2-3, 2-3) continues its climb back with a 74-63 win over rival Mount Olive (2-5, 2-5) Thursday night in a Conference Carolinas game at Wilson Gymnasium.
Barton senior all-conference guard
Isaiah Reddish (Durham, N.C.), in his first game back with the Bulldogs this year, finished with a game-high 22 points and hit all 12 free throw attempts as the home team won their second straight game and downed Mount Olive for the seventh straight time.
Barton freshman guard
Marcus Boykin (Clinton, N.C.) added 14 points including 12 in the decisive second half and the Bulldogs finished 24-of-27 (89 percent) from the charity stripe and 23-of-44 (52 percent) from the field in the victory.
The Trojans' Johnny Hughes, III (Fayetteville, N.C.) led the visitors with 21 points in the losing effort. Barton junior guard
Melvin Worley (Lowell, Mass.) also scored in double figures, totaling 11 points in the victory.
Barton remains at home to face Lees-McRae in conference action on Saturday beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Mount Olive returns home to take on Southern Wesleyan on Saturday night starting at 6:00 p.m.
