Box Score WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (10-13, 8-8) put together one of its most impressive victories on the season with a surprisingly easy 92-74 win over Lees-McRae (16-7, 9-6) Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.
Barton junior forward and all-league performer Isaiah Reddish (Durham, N.C.) had a monster double-double – 30 points and 16 rebounds, both game-highs – as the Bulldogs broke open a close game at halftime to avenge an earlier loss to Lees-McRae.
Barton held a 39-33 lead at halftime before breaking the game wide open after intermission. The Bulldogs led by as many 30 points – 82-52 with 5:51 remaining in the contest – and connected on 33-of-40 free throw attempts. Barton junior forward Blake Burdack (Melbourne, AUSTRALIA) added 15 points and 12 rebounds in the win as well.
Lees-McRae was led by Quay Kimble (Shelby, N.C.) with 16 points but the Bobcats connected on just seven-of-32 from behind the three-point line. Barton also held a 53-35 edge in rebounding in the victory.
Barton hits the road again on Tuesday to take on Chowan in Murfreesboro, N.C., at 7:30 p.m., in league action while Lees-McRae returns home to face conference-foe Southern Wesleyan Wednesday beginning at 7:30 p.m.
