Barton men's basketball suffers setback to Southern Wesleyan, 83-73, in regular season finale

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (13-14, 11-9) fell to Southern Wesleyan (16-11, 12-7) by a 83-73 score on Senior Day Saturday afternoon in the Bulldogs' regular season finale at Wilson Gymnasium in Conference Carolinas action.

Southern Wesleyan's Ta'Jay Dunlap (Columbia, S.C.) finished with 22 points while Clenzo Ross (Rock Hill, S.C.) added 20 points as the Warriors swept the season series from the Bulldogs.  Southern Wesleyan also hit 10 three-pointers and shot 51 percent (29-of-57) from the floor in the win.

Barton junior forward Isaiah Reddish (Durham, N.C.) also scored 22 points and junior guard David Campbell (Severn, Md.) came off the bench to score 14 points and hit 12-of-15 free three attempts despite the setback.  Barton finished 25-of-30 from the charity stripe as well but saw its five-game winning streak come to an end.

Southern Wesleyan led by a 37-32 score at halftime and remained in the lead the rest of the way.  Four players finished in double figures for the Warriors, who held a 36-30 advantage in rebounding.

Barton will next play in the 2020 Conference Carolinas Championship with the quarterfinal round on the road on Tuesday, March 3, on the road.  Southern Wesleyan, meanwhile, hosts Erskine on Tuesday in a league game beginning at 7:30 p.m.
