Barton men's basketball bounces back with road win over Erskine, 86-82

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (7-11, 5-6) held on for an 86-82 win over Erskine (5-10, 3-7) on Monday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action at Belk Arena.

Barton junior forward Isaiah Reddish (Durham, N.C.), the team's leading scorer (20.6 ppg), once again paced the Bulldogs with 26 points while junior center Blake Burdack (Melbourne, AUSTRALIA) tallied a career-high 24 points in the win.  Both players went seven-of-eight from the charity stripe.

Erskine's Emandi Brooks (Fort Mill, S.C.) scored a team-high 24 points as well but the Flying Fleet suffered their third straight setback.

The score was tied at 68-all with just under six minutes left in the contest when senior guard Michael Boykin (Clinton, N.C.) hit the game-winning field goal and started a 7-0 run for the Bulldogs.  Barton's performance at the free throw line was the difference as the visitors connected on 24-of-31 free throw attempts including 15-of-19 after intermission.

Barton faces Emmanuel (Ga.) in the NCAA Division II National Showcase Game of the Week on Saturday at 4:00 p.m., in Franklin Springs, Ga., while Erskine plays Lees-McRae on the road Thursday beginning at 7:30 p.m.
