Box Score WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (6-10, 4-5) bounced back from a pair of overtime setbacks to deal North Greenville (6-7, 4-4) a 77-72 loss on Saturday in Conference Carolinas action at Wilson Gymnasium.
Barton junior forward Isaiah Reddish (Durham, N.C.) scored 17 points – including 13 after intermission – while senior guard Michael Boykin (Clinton, N.C.) added 15 points as the Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing streak. Boykin now has 1,399 points for his collegiate career, seventh-best all-time in the NCAA era for the Bulldogs.
North Greenville's D.J. Brooks (Simpsonville, S.C.) led all scorers with 34 points in addition to eight three-pointers in the losing effort.
North Greenville held a 42-39 advantage with 15:27 remaining in the contest thanks to a trey from Seth Hewitt (Chesnee, S.C.) before Barton responded with 14 straight points over the next four minutes to take the lead for good. Barton junior forward Blake Burdack (Melbourne, AUSTRALIA) added 10 points and nine boards off the bench in the win as well.
Barton hits the road for six straight Conference Carolinas games beginning on Saturday, January 18, against Southern Wesleyan in Central, S.C., at 4:00 p.m., while North Greenville faces King (Tenn.) on the road Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
