Box Score WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (5-7, 3-2) snapped a two-game losing streak with an 81-71 win over Chowan (4-6, 1-4) Tuesday night in a Conference Carolinas game at Wilson Gymnasium.
Barton senior forward Isaiah Buck-Lowman (Springfield, Va.) came off the bench to score a team-high 18 points on eight-of-12 shooting while senior guard Michael Boykin (Clinton, N.C.) and junior forward Isaiah Reddish (Durham, N.C.) added 13 points each in the win. Boykin moved up to seventh place on Barton's all-time scoring list with 1,348 points.
Chowan's B.J. McLaurin (Fayetteville, N.C.) posted a double-double – 22 points and 13 rebounds – but the Hawks suffered their second straight setback.
Barton held a 48-39 advantage at halftime and never let its lead get under two points the rest of the way. Reddish added 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the year and the Bulldogs held a 42-31 edge on the boards in the win as well.
Barton faces Belmont Abbey in league action on the road on Friday in Belmont, N.C., beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Chowan takes on Emmanuel (Ga.) on Saturday, January 4, at 4:00 p.m., in Franklin Springs, Ga.
