Box Score

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (3-3, 1-0) opened the Conference Carolinas portion of its schedule with a 67-63 triumph over Erskine (2-4, 0-1) Saturday afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium.

In the process, 24-year Bulldog mentor Ron Lievense picked up his 500th career head coaching victory.  Lievense has been at the helm of the Bulldogs since the beginning of the 1996-97 campaign.

Barton senior forward Isaiah Buck-Lowman (Springfield, Va.) finished with a game-high 23 points in addition to 13 rebounds while junior guard David Campbell (Severn, Md.) added 20 points – a career-high – as the Bulldogs won their third straight game.

The Flying Fleet's Malcolm Green (New Ellenton, S.C.) scored a team-high 22 points but Erskine shot just 30 percent (23-of-76) from the floor including seven-of-32 (22 percent) from behind the three-point line.

Barton senior guard Jeff Gordon (Woodbridge, Va.) scored nine points and brought down 12 boards as the Bulldogs were able to gut out the victory despite being a bit short-handed.  The Bulldogs held a 54-46 advantage on the boards and blocked five shots in the win as well.

Barton returns to action on Tuesday, November 26, when the Bulldogs travel to Greenwood, S.C., to take on Lander beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Erskine plays league-foe Emmanuel (Ga.) in Franklin Springs, Ga., on Monday starting at 7:30 p.m.
