CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore outside hitter Kaytlin Elkins recorded 13 kills on Saturday afternoon and crossed into double-digits for the seventh time this season for Barton College. BC did record 7.5 blocks as a team and was paced by two solo blocks from senior Allie Cullens. Anderson (6-1) served up six aces in the match and hit .214 as a team despite not having a player tally double-digit kills.

Jayln Knight paced the Trojans with nine kills while hitting .304 in the match. Knight also added 11 digs, while Emily Conlin just missed a double-double with 29 assists and nine digs for Anderson. Meghan DeVaux recorded a team-high 13 digs, while Kaitlyn Grube tallied a pair of aces to go along with four kills and eight digs.

Anderson would lead see the score knotted in the match just one time as the Trojans held a lead in all three sets against BC. Barton saw Anderson go on a 7-0 run to quickly open an 8-1 advantage in the first set. The Bulldogs rallied to trim the deficit to 15-10 before the Trojans stretched the lead to 20-10 with a 5-0 rally. Barton senior Angelica Acevedo delivered an ace to cap a 3-0 run for the Bulldogs before Anderson used a 3-0 run of its own to secure the first set 25-14.

In the second set, a kill from Elkins pulled BC within a point of the Trojans (11-10) but a 4-0 run gave Anderson some breathing room. Anderson rattled off four more points later in the set to take a 19-13 advantage before the run ended off a kill from Kendall. Anderson closed the set with a kill from Hailee Wilhelm to secure the 25-20 victory.

Anderson started the third set with a 5-0 run that would be stopped by a kill from Cullens. The Trojans upped their lead to 9-3 in the set and forced BC to call a timeout. Trailing 12-5 in the set, BC made a run to cut the deficit to 12-8 following a pair of kills from Frederick and Kendall. Anderson used a pair of big runs late in the set to complete the sweep of Barton by taking the set 25-13.
