BRISTOL, TENN. – Playing in wet and dreary conditions, the Barton College women's soccer team recorded a 4-1 victory against King University on Friday afternoon at Bristol Tennessee High School.

Barton (9-6-1, 5-5-1) finishes the regular season with three consecutive wins and will wait to find out it's seeding for the upcoming Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championships. King (2-14, 2-9) recorded four shots on goal in the contest and tallied its lone goal late in the opening half.

Senior Laisy Scardazzi tallied a goal along with an assist in the match for the Bulldogs, while sophomore Syaani Harris scored her sixth goal of the season. Junior Amanda Barata and senior Jordyn Brown each scored once in the match for the Bulldogs, while junior Rebekah Beal added her team-leading sixth assist on Brown's tally in the second half. Redshirt junior Emma Mitchell also added an assist for the Bulldogs.

The Tornado were paced by a goal from Maggie Olvera, who trimmed the BC lead to 2-1 in the 43rd minute of the opening half. Anya Gross, Meghan O'Ferral, and Jaida Souvannaraj each recorded a shot on goal for King in the match.

Barton opened the scoring in the 14th minute as Harris took a feed from Scardazzi that would see her find the back of the net after King netminder Lindsey Dunham came out of her net to try and stop the pass. The Bulldogs wouldn't need much longer to double their advantage as Scardazzi matched Harris with her sixth goal of the season at the 15:20 mark off a shot from 30-yards out that beat Dunham.

Olvera trimmed the deficit to 2-1 for the Tornado in the 43rd minute as she found a loose ball inside the box and would beat Barton goalkeeper Megan Bolick. Just 18 seconds later, BC found the back of the net as Barata took control of a loose ball to tally her second goal of the season and make it 3-1. Barton would outshoot King 10-5 in the half, while Dunham recorded five saves in net for the Tornado.

The Bulldogs tallied the only goal of the second half at the 55:41 mark as Brown headed a ball that came off the crossbar and past Dunham to make it 4-1. The goal would be set up off a free kick at midfield from Beal after a foul on King. The Tornado tried to cut into the deficit and would deliver a pair of shots on goal only to be denied by freshman Kianna Webb, who took over in net for the Bulldogs in the 68th minute.

Bolick (7-3-1) recorded the win for BC after making one save and allowing one goal through 68 minutes of action for the Bulldogs. Webb recorded a pair of saves after coming into the match and played the final 22:09 for Barton. Dunham (0-5) registered six saves in the match for the Tornado despite allowing four goals. Jakeria Wilson made three saves and played the final 24:04 in net for King. The Bulldogs finished the match with a 13-4 edge in shots on goal, while King held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The quarterfinals of the 2018 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship begin on Oct. 30 with four matches being held at the site of the higher seed.
