WILSON, N.C. – Brothers Noah and Austin Tausch each scored a goal in the second half to help the Barton College men's soccer team claim a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Conference Carolinas opponent Belmont Abbey College on Thursday night at the Barton Outdoor Athletic Complex.

The win was the Bulldogs' first in league play, improving their record to 1-2-1, while moving the team's overall record to a 3-6-1 mark. The Crusaders fell to 2-6-2 overall and 1-4 in the conference.

Belmont Abbey scored first in the match with a 10th minute goal from Clay Dimick after he was able to finish a ball played into the box by teammate Geinner Duque. However, junior Tyler Dew was able to even the score at 1-1 in the 36th minute, scoring his third goal of the season. Dew finished a shot from inside the box following a corner kick from sophomore Tolly Beatson.

After intermission, Belmont Abbey's Nando Morales put his team ahead with an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute of play. Morales was able to settle a failed clearance attempt by the Barton defense and beat the keeper one-on-one for the score.

First-year player Noach Tausch propelled the Bulldog comeback with his first career goal just five minutes later, settling a through ball from junior Alex Blake and blasting a shot past the Crusader keeper.

Following a red card that was issued to Belmont Abbey's Julien Armaroli, Barton had a one-man advantage for the final 16 minutes of the game. Barton used the advantage to its favor as Austin Taush completed the rally for BC with his second goal of the year in the 86th minute of action. The senior made a run into the box following a corner kick from Beatson, who recorded his second assist of the match on the play, and netted the eventual game-winner from the close right wing.

The two sides were even on shot attempts with 11 apiece and shots-on-goal with six each, as junior keeper Jens Madsen Hordvik picked up the win after registering four saves in goal.

Barton travels to Franklin Springs, Ga. on Saturday, Oct. 8 for its next league matchup with Emmanuel College at 4 p.m.
