BRISTOL, TENN. – Senior Austin Tausch and sophomore Tolly Beatson each recorded a goal and an assist as the Barton men's soccer team ended the 2016 regular season with a 2-0 shutout victory over King University on Saturday afternoon.

King held a 16-8 advantage in total shots, but had only three shots on goal as Barton keeper Jens Madsen Hordvik had two saves to preserve his second shutout in the team's last three games.

After a scoreless first half of action, the Bulldogs broke through with a goal in the 59th minute as Tausch was able to beat the Tornado keeper into the bottom right corner with his fourth goal of the season on an assist from Beatson.

Tausch returned the favor with just over a minute remaining as Beatson scored his fourth goal of the year on the assist to give BC a two-goal lead that it held on to until the final whistle.

Barton will travel to Misenheimer, N.C. on Monday, Oct. 31 for a Conference Carolinas Tournament Quarterfinal matchup with regular season champion and No. 14 Pfeiffer University scheduled for 7 p.m.
