WILSON, S.C. – The Barton College men's soccer team suffered its fourth straight defeat with a 3-0 loss to non-conference opponent Chowan University on Thursday night at the Barton Outdoor Athletics Complex.
Chowan struck first with a goal in the 27th minute of the match from Lee Wattam who finished a shot from right in front of the net to give his team a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The Hawks scored twice more in the second half, once on Wattam's second goal of the match in the 58th minute and again on a goal from Denis Roule in the 62nd minute to secure the shutout victory.
BC had just six shots in the match compared to 21 total shots by Chowan as keepers Jens Madsen Hordvik and Jacob Baird combined for five saves. Hordvik left the game after 16:43 to make way for Baird who had four saves in the final 73:17 in net.
Barton hosts Lees-McRae College on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. as a part of the College's Homecoming festivities.
