Murfreesboro, N.C. – The Hawks of Chowan University scored two goals in the second half of play as the Barton College men's soccer team fell to CU 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.

Chowan (7-6-3) came out aggressive, firing a header on goal in the 6th minute of play that was turned away by freshman goalkeeper Danny Garcia. Garcia made his first appearance on the pitch for Barton, collecting one save in the loss.

Barton (2-12-1) was not able to take a shot in the opening half as the Hawks and Bulldogs played to a scoreless tie at intermission.

Following some halftime adjustments, Chowan's Terell Williamson scored his first goal of the 2015 season in the 46th minute. The Hawks extended their lead to a 2-0 advantage in the 77th minute on a goal by Jordan Young as a shot from 40 yards out found the far post and landed in the back of the net.

The Bulldogs totaled 13 shots in the match, all in the second half, as they led 4-3 in the shots-on-goal category.

BC now has just one remaining regular season match on the schedule before opening play in the Conference Carolinas Tournament next week.

Barton will travel to Tigerville, S.C. on Saturday, Oct. 31 for its final regular season match against the Crusaders of North Greenville University. The Bulldogs open postseason play on Tuesday, Nov. 3 against No. 1 Pfeiffer University at 7 p.m. in Misenheimer, N.C.
