WILSON, N.C.   Barton College sophomore goalkeeper Jens Madsen Hordvick totaled a career-high 10 saves, however the King Tornado came away with a 1-0 victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at the Barton Outdoor Athletic Complex.

In a game played under constant rainfall, King (4-4-2, 3-1-2) held a 20-5 edge in total shots including 11 shots on goal. Barton (1-8, 0-5) put three of its five total shots on goal as Tornado keeper Kari Sveinsson recorded three saves in the win.

The first half of action saw the Bulldogs and Tornado play to a scoreless tie as Hordvick turned away four shots to keep the scoreboard clean early on.

King's Eli Carrasco collected a bouncing ball in the box and finished in the bottom right corner for his first goal of the season to give the Tornado a 1-0 lead in the 57th minute of play. Barton had two shots in final 12 minutes but could not get anything into the back of the net.

BC will look to end its current seven-game losing streak when the Bulldogs travel to Belmont, N.C. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 for a Conference Carolinas matchup with Belmont Abbey College at 3 p.m.
