Daniel Claytor

Daniel Claytor

Daniel Claytor was hired as an assistant coach for the Barton golf program in the spring of 2015.

No stranger to Barton athletics, Claytor was a member of the Bulldog golf team from 2009 to 2013, earning All-American honors three separate times, Conference Carolinas First Team All-Conference three times and being named the 2011 Conference Carolinas Player of the Year as a sophomore.

During his time as a Bulldog he won six collegiate events, competed in the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament twice (2010, 2012) and he set Barton's single season scoring record of 72.31 in 2011-12 and was named Barton's Male Athlete of the Year twice (2011, 2012).

Claytor left Barton with the lowest scoring average in the history of the program and subsequently went on to compete professionally on the eGolf Gateway Tour. He made four cuts at the professional level, finishing third overall in the Mimosa Hills Open.

He graduated from Barton in the fall of 2013 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport Management before spending the spring 2014 semester as an assistant coach at Coker College in Hartsville, S.C.
