Josh Byrd, MBA, LAT, ATC, joined the Barton College Athletic Training Staff in July of 2025 and will work with the sports of football, women's flag football and men's and women's track and field.
Byrd received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.Â
During his time as an athletic training student at ECU, Byrd worked with the women’s lacrosse, softball, cheer and dance, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field and cross country and football teams.
Byrd also did a clinical rotation at North Pitt High School in Bethel, N.C.
Byrd proceeded to receive a MBA in sport management from Shorter University in Rome, Ga.  During his time with the Hawks' Athletic Department, Byrd worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the women's volleyball and women’s lacrosse.
Byrd previously worked for Atrium Health Floyd as an Athletic Arainer at Model High School in Rome, Ga., where he cared for all athletic teams involved with Model High School while also providing outreach coverage for other schools and events in the area when needed.Â
Bryd also assisted with Shorter Football games as well.
Byrd is a native of Murfreesboro, N.C. Â In his free time, Byrd enjoys golf, music and watching the Washington Commanders.
