Hired permanently on Saturday, May 4, 2019, Tyler Amerson is beginning his third season as the Head Coach of both the Barton Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field Teams in 2021-22.

Amerson had served as the interim track and field head coach of the Bulldogs since the middle of March of 2019 following the resignation of Chad Balentine last year.

Amerson has served as an assistant coach for both programs for the past two years and is a 2017 graduate of Barton College with a bachelor's degree in sports management.  Amerson lettered four years for both the men's cross country and track and field programs and is a two-time Conference Carolinas All-Academic Team honoree (2016 and 2017).
