Maria Taylor

Maria Taylor, MPH, LAT, ATC, joined the Barton College Sports Medicine staff in August of 2022 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in the summer of 2025 after spending three years as an assistant and will oversee the women's volleyball and baseball teams this year.

Taylor comes to Barton after being an Athletic Trainer at Bluefield State (W.Va.) University.  During her time at Bluefield State, Taylor worked primarily with football, men's basketball and softball but was involved with several sports across the scope.  

Taylor received her bachelor of science degree in athletic training from the University of Pittsburgh.  During her time as a student trainer, Taylor worked with the Panthers' women's gymnastics, men’s basketball, and football teams as well as one of the local Pittsburgh high schools and the Carnegie Mellon football team.

Taylor proceeded to get her Master of Public Health degree from Slippery Rock University.  While at Slippery Rock, Taylor was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the football and men's and women's tennis teams. 

Taylor is a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., and is an avid Pittsburgh sports teams fan.  During her free time, Taylor likes to cook and work out.
