CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's cross country teams opened the Fall 2026 season at the Queen City Invite Friday evening at McAlpine Greenway Park. Queens University of Charlotte served as the host institution.
On the women's side, Elon won the team honors after placing four runners in the top five while the Bulldogs took 23rd overall and were led by sophomore
Lena Warren (Clayton, N.C.). Warren ran the 6K course in 21:37 and took 120th overall.
Marshall's Rachael Withrow (Winfield, W.Va.) was the top individual female runner after crossing the finish line in 16:18.
In the men's competition, Charlotte was the top team while the Bulldogs were led by junior
Trey Lamm (Lucama, N.C.). Lamm finished the 8K course in 27:41, good for 90th overall. N.C. Central's Aaron Alukunyang (Iten, KENYA) won the men's race in 24:08.
The Barton cross country teams return to competition on Friday, October 2, at the Dill Family Foundational Invitational in Greenville, S.C.
