MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Barton flag football team (10-2, 7-2) ended its inaugural regular season with an 80-6 thumping of rival Mount Olive (7-7, 3-6) in a Conference Carolinas contest at the Ray McDonald, Sr., Sports Complex.

Barton freshman quarterback Sawyer Rigdon (Wilmington, N.C.) passed for 315 yards and nine touchdowns – including four to freshman athlete Valerie-Ange Batta (Durham, N.C.) – as the Bulldogs defeated the Trojans for the second time this year by a combined score of 145-13.

The Bulldogs also registered six interceptions including two from Batta and totaled six sacks on the evening.  Barton held a 360-142 edge in total yards in the win.
