MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Barton flag football team (10-2, 7-2) ended its inaugural regular season with an 80-6 thumping of rival Mount Olive (7-7, 3-6) in a Conference Carolinas contest at the Ray McDonald, Sr., Sports Complex.

Sawyer Rigdon (Wilmington, N.C.) passed for 315 yards and nine touchdowns – including four to freshman athlete
Valerie-Ange Batta (Durham, N.C.) – as the Bulldogs defeated the Trojans for the second time this year by a combined score of 145-13.
The Bulldogs also registered six interceptions including two from Batta and totaled six sacks on the evening. Barton held a 360-142 edge in total yards in the win.

Zahnia Long (Charlotte, N.C.) also caught a pair of touchdown passes as the visitors scored the final 54 points of the contest.
Barton and Mount Olive will next compete in the Conference Carolinas Flag Football Championship on Friday, April 17, at Durham County Memorial Stadium in Durham, N.C., with the quarterfinal round.
