SUMTER, S.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (14-7) fell to Erskine (14-8), 4-3, in a tight contest Thursday afternoon in the Quarterfinal Round of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Championship at the Palmetto Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs won the doubles point but the Flying Fleet rallied to win four of the six singles matches to overcome Barton and move on in the championship.

Claudia Zaratiegui Marquez (Barcelona, SPAIN) led the way for the Bulldogs with victories at third doubles and sixth singles.
Barton senior
Leonie Hellum-Lilleengen (Bekkestua, NORWAY) earned her fifth straight victory at No. 4 singles as well.
The Flying Fleet, the fourth seed in the tournament, will take on top-seeded Young Harris in the semifinals on Friday afternoon starting at 1:00 p.m.
