WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (12-6, 8-3) earned its third straight victory with a 4-3 triumph over Francis Marion (8-10, 7-4) in a key Conference Carolinas contest Wednesday afternoon at the Michalak Tennis Complex.
Barton received singles and double victories from both sophomore
Alejandra Carmona Garcia (Fraga, SPAIN) and junior
Claudia Zaratiegui Marquez (Barcelona, SPAIN) as the Bulldogs won their third straight contest and improved to 9-0 at home this year.
The Bulldogs lost the doubles' point but rallied to take four of the six singles matches as Barton avenged a 7-0 defeat to Francis Marion on Tuesday, April 7, in Florence, S.C.
Barton remains at home to take Ferrum as part of Senior Day in a league contest on Friday starting at 1:00 p.m. Francis Marion, meanwhile, travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., to take on Chowan on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
