MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (10-9, 7-2) defeated Chowan (5-12, 2-7) by a 6-1 score on Wednesday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas match at the Rose Family Tennis Complex.
Barton was led by seniors
Tilde Howeler (Stockholm, SWEDEN) and
Silvia Fernandez-Trabadelo (Mataro, SPAIN) and sophomore
Ruya Mavi (Huddinge, SWEDEN) with victories in singles and doubles play.
Fernandez-Trabadelo's 6-1, 6-1 victory over Aime Vera (Sante Fe, ARGENTIA) at No. 2 singles was her 10th straight in singles competition.
The Bulldogs round out the regular season with a match on Friday, April 18, at Cayce, S.C., against league-foe Erskine beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Barton then competes in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Championship which takes place at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C., beginning on Thursday, April 24.
