WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis (3-2) upset Campbell (1-4), an NCAA Division I institution, by a 4-3 score Sunday afternoon at the Michalak Tennis Complex.
The Bulldogs were led by senior
Johan Holgersson (Bromma, SWEDEN), who earned victories at fourth singles and first singles as Barton defeated its second NCAA D-I opponent this year.
Holgersson rallied to beat Campbell's Adi Dagan (Beit Kama, ISRAEL), 6-7, 7-6 and 6-4, in singles competition before teaming with sophomore
Fredrik Foss (Oslo, NORWAY) for the victory at No. 1 doubles.
The duo beat the Camels' Thomas Drapeau (Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA) and Luke Tollenaar (Rotterdam, Netherlands), 6-3.
Barton hits the road to take on Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, February 15, beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Campbell faces North Carolina Central on Thursday beginning at 2:00 p.m., in Durham, N.C.
