WILSON, N.C. – The Barton softball team (19-17, 8-6) split a Conference Carolinas doubleheader with Belmont Abbey (14-13, 6-8) Saturday afternoon at Jeffries Field. The Bulldogs won the first contest by a 2-1 score while the Crusaders salvaged the split with a 2-1 triumph in the nightcap.

Kandyce Condrey (High Point, N.C.) ended the game with a walk-off RBI triple – scoring sophomore outfielder
Elana Griffin (Nashville, N.C.) – with one out in the bottom of the seventh to take the win.

Miranda Holmes (Godwin, N.C.) earned the complete game victory after striking out 14 batters while allowing just one run on five hits. Holmes improved to 15-6 on the year and set a school single-season record for wins.
For Belmont Abbey, McKenna Meadors (Montgomery, Texas) fell to 2-5 on the season after suffering the loss. Hallie Mele (Denver, N.C.) had a run-scoring triple for the visitors.
Game Two – Belmont Abbey 2, Barton 1
Belmont Abbey's Adison Yoder (Newton, N.C.) had an RBI single and Sage Farmer (Clayton, N.C.) scored the game-winning run on the same play courtesy of a Bulldogs' error in the fifth inning as the Crusaders split the doubleheader.

Ali Bunch (Wilmington, N.C.) fell to 1-3 after taking the loss. Belmont Abbey's Adison Yoder (Newton, N.C.) (6-5) earned the victory and Meadors pitched two scoreless innings for her first save of the season.
Barton hits the road to take on Mount Olive in a league doubleheader Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., in Mount Olive, N.C., while Belmont Abbey hosts UNC Pembroke on Wednesday in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
