WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (5-12, 4-4) rallied in the end to beat King (1-16, 0-7), 63-61, Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.

Lauren Walker (Charlotte, N.C.) and sophomore forward
Erial Owens (Powder Springs, Ga.) combined for 49 points as the Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing streak.
Walker led all scorers with 29 points while Owens added 20 points as Barton rallied from a 47-38 deficit with 3:10 left in the third quarter to keep the Tornado winless in conference play.
With the score tied at 61 with four seconds left, Owens scored the game-winning lay-up on an inbounds pass from Walker under the basket for the victory.
King, losers of 11 straight contests, was paced by Brianna Dunbar (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) with 14 points and Le'Aije Ellington (Indianapolis, Ind.) scored a dozen points off the bench in the setback. King was also done in by 22 turnovers in the losing effort.
Walker moved into 12th-place on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list with 1,193 points as well.
Barton remains at home to take on rival Mount Olive Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium in a league contest while King travels to Central, S.C., to face Southern Wesleyan beginning at 5:00 p.m., on Monday.
