BELMONT, N.C. – The Barton softball team (23-20, 13-9) completed a doubleheader sweep of Belmont Abbey (18-24, 12-12), 6-1 and 11-7, Saturday in Conference Carolinas action at Crusader Field.
Game One – Barton 6, Belmont Abbey 1
Barton junior
Miranda Holmes (Godwin, N.C.) (6-7) allowed just one run while striking out nine batters in earning the complete game victory while a trio of Bulldogs hit home runs to lead the visitors to the victory.

Kandyce Condrey (High Point, N.C.), senior first baseman
Sloane Correa (Greenville, N.C.) and sophomore designated hitter
Gracelyn Massey (Princeton, N.C.) all went yard for the Bulldogs in the victory.
For Belmont Abbey, Trinity Wall (Fort Mill, S.C.) finished with a pair of hits and an RBI while Adison Yoder (Newton, N.C.) fell to 14-8 after taking the loss.
Game Two – Barton 11, Belmont Abbey 7
Trailing by a 7-5 score entering the top of the seventh inning, the Bulldogs plated six runs in the final frame to complete the doubleheader sweep of the Crusaders. Correa broke a seven-all tie with the game-winning, two-run double in the inning and finished with four runs batted in to lead Barton.

Lindsey Massengill (Pine Level, N.C.) both finished with a pair of hits and two RBI while senior
AnnaKate Gilchrist (Clayton, N.C.) (5-4) picked up the win.
Yoder and Marlie Stilwell (Deep Gap, N.C.) both drove in two runs as well for the Crusaders but Alannah Browne (Suwanee, Ga.) (3-12) suffered the loss.
Barton remains on the road to take on Converse in the regular season finale in a league doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m., in Spartanburg, S.C.
